About The Position

Solar & Battery Sales Consultant About Cascadia Solar Cascadia Solar, the solar and battery team at Frederickson Electric, has been designing and installing solar energy systems since 2008. We help residential and commercial customers take greater control of their energy use through thoughtfully designed grid-tied solar and battery-storage solutions. We are seeking an experienced sales professional to manage prospective customers from their first inquiry through signed contract. The right candidate will combine strong sales skills with curiosity, technical aptitude, integrity, and a genuine desire to help customers make sound energy decisions. This is a consultative sales position. Success comes from listening carefully, understanding each customer’s goals, explaining complex options clearly, following up consistently, and confidently guiding qualified customers toward a decision.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in consultative sales, preferably involving home services, construction, renewable energy, technology, or another considered purchase.
  • Ability to manage a sales opportunity from first contact through closing.
  • Strong discovery, presentation, follow-up, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to explain technical and financial information clearly to customers with varying levels of knowledge.
  • Strong organizational skills and consistent attention to detail.
  • Self-motivation, persistence, and personal accountability for sales results.
  • Comfort working with cloud-based software, CRM systems, spreadsheets, electronic documents, and virtual meeting tools.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, designers, estimators, electricians, installers, and administrative staff.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel to customer properties and attend occasional evening or weekend appointments and events.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous solar, battery-storage, electrical, HVAC, roofing, construction, or home-services sales experience.
  • Familiarity with solar design and proposal software.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, utility rates, net-energy-metering programs, tax incentives, and project financing.
  • Experience selling both residential and commercial projects.
  • College degree or relevant technical or professional training.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to inbound leads from phone calls, website inquiries, referrals, advertising, and other sources.
  • Manage the complete sales process from initial contact through signed contract and handoff to the project team.
  • Qualify prospective customers by exploring their goals, energy usage, budget, property characteristics, timeline, and decision-making process.
  • Build rapport and establish Cascadia Solar as a knowledgeable and trustworthy advisor.
  • Review utility bills, property information, aerial imagery, and other available data to evaluate project feasibility.
  • Conduct virtual and onsite consultations and preliminary site assessments.
  • Develop preliminary solar and battery-storage solutions using company-approved design and estimating tools.
  • Prepare and present clear, accurate proposals that explain system design, expected performance, pricing, incentives, financing options, and customer benefits.
  • Work with the Solar Project Manager and technical team to confirm system feasibility, scope, equipment selections, pricing, and contract terms.
  • Present options and recommendations in a way that helps customers make informed decisions without high-pressure sales tactics.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up with active opportunities and promptly address customer questions or concerns.
  • Reengage qualified prospects who previously postponed or did not complete a project.
  • Maintain accurate and complete lead, activity, proposal, and pipeline information in the company’s customer relationship management system.
  • Maintain realistic sales forecasts and communicate pipeline status to company leadership.
  • Coordinate a complete and professional handoff of signed projects to the design and production teams.
  • Ask satisfied customers for referrals and online reviews at appropriate points in the customer journey.
  • Represent Cascadia Solar at community events, trade shows, educational presentations, and other local marketing activities.
  • Provide feedback on lead quality, customer concerns, competitive activity, pricing, and market trends.
  • Stay current on solar and battery technology, utility programs, available incentives, financing options, and relevant industry developments.
