About The Position

NOVO Health Services offers linen management solutions to the healthcare industry, focusing on safety and infection control. They provide partner hospitals with a value-driven linen management control system that measures and monitors linen utilization by department to eliminate excess internal costs. NOVO's regional healthcare linen facilities are HLAC accredited and operate with state-of-the-art processing equipment and processes. This position is for a Soiled Sorter at their Skokie facility. The ideal candidate is confident in decision-making, can act quickly, and possesses excellent communication skills. They should be ready to commit to measurable performance and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack individual items from the machine for long periods.
• Demonstrated customer service and organization skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands for the entire 10-hour shift.

Nice To Haves

• High School Education, GED, and formal education/training
• 1 to 2 years of experience in the health care, manufacturing or similarly situated industries.

Responsibilities

• Sort large pieces including bath blankets, flat sheets, draw sheets, and thermals.
• Sort second largest pieces including underpants, patient gowns, and fitted sheets.
• Handle all other pieces such as bath towels, washcloths, hand towels, and scrubs.
• Adhere to quality standards in terms of soil sorting and cart cleaning.
• Understand, observe, and adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
• Assist and perform other duties as assigned.
