About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to sort returned, soiled linen into appropriate classifications in preparation for washing. Operators located on the work platform float between multiple positions moving up and down the belt sorting into the appropriate bins or slots. They also move empty carts to the appropriate area for cleaning and reuse.

Requirements

• Production standard are 45 bags or 2000 lbs. opened per hour for each operator.
• Ability to handle bags weighing approximately 45 lbs.
• Requires reaching at or below shoulders.
• Picking up bags from inside bins and placing them on table where they proceed to break bags open.
• Continuous walking, bending, standing, and twisting.
• Lifting 10-50 lbs.
• Pulling/Pushing force of 10-20 lbs.
• Simple grasping and power grasping with both hands.
• Pushing/Pulling with both hands.
• Category 1 blood/fluid exposure risk.

Responsibilities

• Open customer returned soil bags (bags weigh ~45 lbs.), discard plastic, spread product out to allow for visibility on soil belt.
• Pre-sort classifications as required.
• Float between multiple positions moving up and down the belt sorting into the appropriate bins or slots.
• Move empty carts to appropriate area for cleaning and reuse.
