About The Position

NOVO Health Services offers linen management solutions to the healthcare industry, focusing on safety and infection control. They provide partner hospitals with a value-driven linen management control system that measures and monitors linen utilization by department to eliminate excess internal costs. NOVO's regional healthcare linen facilities are HLAC accredited and operate with state-of-the-art processing equipment and processes. This role is for a Soiled Sorter at their Skokie facility, seeking an individual who is confident in decision-making, can act quickly, and possesses excellent communication skills. The company is looking for someone ready to commit to measurable performance and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack individual items from the machine for long periods.
Demonstrated customer service and organization skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Physical Demands consist of standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting 50 lbs. or more, and stooping.
Able to meet the physical demands for the entire 10-hour shift.

Nice To Haves

High School Education, GED, and formal education/training.
1 to 2 years of experience in the health care, manufacturing or similarly situated industries.

Responsibilities

Open bags at the breakout table and send linen up the belt.
Move empty soil carts away from the belt, put new carts in the area, and take empty carts to the cart area.
Break open bags.
Adhere to quality standards in terms of soil sorting and cart cleaning.
Wear required PPE and adhere to safety standards.
Understand, observe, and adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
Assist and perform other duties as assigned.
