About The Position

The Aerospace Corporation is hiring a Software Engineering Grad Intern for the Software Tools and Assurance Department (STAD) in the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD). This position will be onsite at our office in El Segundo, CA. Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our Intelligence Community, DoD, and civilian customers.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related program
  • Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full- time after completion of the internship
  • Hands-on expertise with application design, software development, and automated testing and programming using common languages including Java, C/C++ and Python.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: Full-stack web development, Model-based software engineering, Agile software development
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Understanding of Distributed systems, cloud native application patterns and tools, micro services architectures, application migrations to any cloud platform

Responsibilities

  • Provide software development effort to a variety of Software centric projects with a strong emphasis on Open-Source programming languages
  • Participates with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners
  • Applies standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks
