About The Position

This role focuses on software testing with a strong emphasis on Python expertise. The ideal candidate will have experience with various communication protocols (CAN, SPI, RS232), standard test equipment, and higher voltage electronics. Proficiency in Embedded C and a deep understanding of embedded software testing methodologies are crucial. The position involves performing detailed software analyses, working with specific hardware and software tools, and contributing to hardware/software integration. Experience with mechatronics and GUI testing tools is also valued.

Requirements

  • Python-based project expertise.
  • Familiarity with CAN, SPI, & RS232 communication protocols.
  • Experience and comfort working with standard test equipment (power supplies, DAQs, function generators, etc.).
  • Experience with higher voltage electronics (270VDC or 115VAC).
  • Comfortable reading electrical schematics, documentation, and datasheets.
  • Embedded C proficiency.
  • Mastery of embedded software testing.
  • Experience with LabVIEW.
  • Experience with PCAN Explorer or equivalent CAN Network Analyzing software.
  • Experience with F28335 Processor.
  • Experience with NI DAQ.
  • Knowledge of DO-178.
  • Experience working with GUI Testing Tools such as Squish or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of software configuration management and contemporary software build, integration, test, and deployment methodologies using Git/GitHub.
  • Python based GUI experience (Tkinter/QT preferred).
  • Hardware/Software Integration Experience.
  • Experience with Vim/Reg-Expressions or text-based tools for processing data.
  • Experience working with mechatronics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform software analyses such as worst-case timing, memory margin, structural coverage, data coupling, and control coupling.
  • Conduct hardware/software integration.
  • Modify/build harnesses and other test fixtures.
  • Test embedded software using Python-based GUIs (Tkinter/QT preferred).
  • Utilize tools like PCAN Explorer or equivalent for CAN network analysis.
  • Work with NI DAQ and F28335 Processor.
  • Perform GUI testing using tools such as Squish or equivalent.
  • Process data using Vim/Reg-Expressions or other text-based tools.
