About The Position

Leidos Defense Sensors is seeking multiple Software Test Engineers of various levels to join our Sensor Research and Analysis Division and support missile defense programs. The ideal candidates will possess strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, collaborate effectively in a team environment, and build solid working relationships with peers and technical staff across the program. In this role, you will work directly with Agile Software Development teams to help achieve key program objectives in support of our national defense. Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution plus 2-4 years of demonstrated performance in the design, development, and testing of real-time software applications and simulations or Masters in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution with less than 2 years of demonstrated performance in the design, development, and testing of real-time software applications and simulations
• Experience with GitLab/Git
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, such as the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), and application of the Agile methodologies within a technical/engineering environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and deliver presentations
• Must be a US citizen possess and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance
• Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area to provide full time onsite support

Nice To Haves

• Test automation or analysis automation experience
• Agile Scrum experience
• Familiarity with Java or UI applications
• Experience with Jira or similar Agile/project management tools
• Exposure to MDA sensors and/or missile defense systems
• Experience with modeling and simulation tools
• Systems engineering familiarity

Responsibilities

• Design, document, and execute test procedures to verify requirements/features
• Build complex, meaningful test scenarios for modeling and simulation–based systems
• Capture and communicate test results clearly and effectively
• Collaborate with stakeholders and Government customers to verify requirements.
• Maintain a positive, proactive, and collaborative attitude, contributing to a productive team culture and demonstrating enthusiasm for solving complex challenges.
• Work as part of an Agile team and participate in all Agile ceremonies, including PI planning, sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos.
