About The Position

Write test automation that runs on real hardware, processing live sensor data from the electric grid. The successful Software Test Engineering Co-op will help develop our platform that turns real-time sensor and weather data into actionable insights for utilities. You’ll be focused on automated testing across the stack, from Python data pipelines to TypeScript web apps, all while contributing to a product that’s reshaping how the electric grid is monitored and managed. Requirements

  • Pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • An interest in engineered testing and/or software automation
  • Understanding of object-oriented and functional design principles, databases, distributed software design, and Agile methodologies for team software development
  • Strong and disciplined approach to test-driven software development
  • Initiative, creative problem-solving skills and team collaboration
  • Python & Javascript (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Typescript/SQL/React/Node
  • Experience working on web application front ends + RESTful API backends
  • Cloud infrastructure familiarity; AWS (nice to have), Azure and/or Google Cloud

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and maintain software test automation and internal tools to support development of your LineVision platform software squad
  • Contribute to the development of KIT, LineVision’s internal tooling and framework for software test automation
  • Integrate with internal and external APIs, cloud services, and databases
  • Contribute to new system design and proof-of-concept exploration
  • Be a valued member of a high-performing software engineering team by supporting team goals of continuous improvement and our culture of growth-mindset
