About The Position

SciTec, a subsidiary of Firefly Aerospace, is a defense contractor specializing in advanced technologies for U.S. National Security and Defense. For over 45 years, SciTec has supported Department of Defense customers by developing innovative remote sensing algorithms, tools, and techniques for data exploitation in areas such as missile defense, intelligence, surveillance, & reconnaissance, space domain awareness, and aircraft survivability. SciTec exclusively works on U.S. government contracts requiring U.S. citizenship for all employees and cannot sponsor work visas. This role involves supporting programs that deliver Next-Generation Missile Warning software, focusing on end-to-end software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data for various defense applications. The position is on-site in Boulder, CO.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
  • U.S Citizenship and eligibility for a DoD security clearance
  • 3 years of experience in software test engineering roles and functions
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with testing Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) processing systems
  • 1 year of experience in software development or test automation (preferably in Python)
  • Experience with formal requirements verification for Government programs
  • Experience working within AWS cloud services and environments.
  • Experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks for cloud infrastructure
  • Familiarity with Python, CI/CD tools, container orchestration with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
  • An active DoD security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain CI pipelines (GitLab CI) for automated testing
  • Orchestrate automated testing across development and test environments using Kubernetes and Helm
  • Executing tests and supporting test execution in multiple environments
  • Developing test automation suites
  • Participating in test engineering artifact reviews
  • Conducting performance analyses, risk analyses, and trade studies
  • Maintaining test documentation in accordance with management procedures
  • Completing assigned tasks to meet program schedule milestones
  • Other duties as assigned
