About The Position

Plans and performs software application testing throughout the SDLC. The Software Test Engineer is highly organized, applies established testing principles and methodologies, uses automation and defect-management tools, validates application and data behavior, and incorporates security and performance considerations for complex systems.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience with an Associate degree. Experience should include testing software applications, applying unit, integration, system, and regression testing concepts, using Selenium, Jira, SQL, and Linux, writing or maintaining basic test scripts, and supporting security or performance testing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, organize, maintain, and execute software test plans, test cases, test data, and results against defined requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Perform unit-support, integration, system, and regression testing of software applications across applicable front-end, back-end, database, and interface components.
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium and basic coding or scripting skills; analyze software behavior and troubleshoot test failures.
  • Use Jira to document, prioritize, track, and communicate defects and work items, and use SQL and Linux to validate data, inspect environments, and support troubleshooting.
  • Participate throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC), collaborating with developers, engineers, analysts, and Agile or Scrum teams to improve testability and quality.
  • Apply security best practices and performance-testing techniques appropriate for complex applications, documenting risks, results, and recommendations.
