Software Test Engineer III
About The Position
Millennium Corporation is hiring a Software Test Engineer to work 100% REMOTE. The candidate must have an active secret clearance. This role involves managing the planning, design, execution, and reporting for software tests, potentially supervising junior testers. The engineer will provide administrative support by reviewing business/software requirements, program documentation, and products for quality and adherence to design concepts. They will also assist in preparing milestone status reports and presentations, and support coordination of Cybersecurity T&E in accordance with DoDI 5000.02 and the DoD Risk Management Framework. The position requires working closely with the software development group throughout the development process, supporting the software configuration management process, and performing software testing at all levels, from module testing to user acceptance tests (manual/automated). Additionally, the role involves reporting and tracking defects, analyzing test results, tracking software testing metrics, and supporting the test lead with test report creation. Training, mentoring, and supervising junior software engineers is also a key responsibility. The role may also involve assisting with Business Development activities such as technical interviews, documentation creation, proposal writing, and reviews.
Requirements
- Candidate must have an active secret clearance.
- BS & 8 yrs of experience or HS Diploma and 13 yrs of experience.
Responsibilities
- Manages the planning, design, execution and reporting for software tests.
- Provides administrative support by reviewing business / software requirements and provides inputs on requirement gaps, testability, and methodology.
- Provides administrative support by reviewing program documentation and products for quality and adherence to design concepts.
- Assists in preparing milestone status reports and deliveries/ presentations on the system concept to colleagues, end user representatives.
- Supports coordination of Cybersecurity T&E IAW DoDI 5000.02 and the DoD Risk Management Framework.
- Prepare / review test plans.
- Prepare test cases, test scripts and analyzes test data and ensures traceability to requirements.
- Works with the software development group throughout the development process.
- Supports the software configuration management process and understands all software components and their interface requirements.
- Performs software testing at all levels from module or unit testing through all levels of software integration testing and user acceptance tests (manual / automated).
- Reports defects and tracks defects and their status throughout the defect management process.
- Analyze test results and track software testing metrics.
- Supports the test lead with the creation of test reports.
- Train, mentor and supervise junior software engineers.
- Assist with Business Development activities as required to support Millennium's strategic business objectives, which may include but not limited to participation in technical interviews, creation of technical documentation, general proposal writing support and proposal color reviews.
