About The Position

The Software Test Engineer works with a cross-functional group of electrical, RF, and firmware engineers, partnering with R&D and New Product Quality teams to develop test software for characterization, design verification, and manufacturing at LivaNova’s Houston, Texas-area facility. The role develops automated test systems for neuromodulation products and uses test results and statistical analysis to inform product design decisions. It is a full-time position and may involve occasional travel of less than 10%.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in electrical design, including circuit design, system bring-up, integration, and debugging.
• At least 2 years of experience using C, C++, or C# for electrical test automation.
• Familiarity with low-power circuit design, embedded devices, Altium board layout, and schematic capture.
• Hands-on experience with debugging and related equipment, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous work experience in a highly regulated industry, such as medical product development.

Responsibilities

• Develop automated test systems for continuous testing, characterization, design verification, and production of neuromodulation products.
• Execute tests and analyze data using statistical methods, applying findings to influence product design choices.
• Write technical specifications and requirements, and clearly communicate issues and information in writing and verbally.
• Automate characterization, design verification, and production-level tests using C# and other automation software tools.
• Assess risks associated with proposed designs and mitigate residual risks through design or process controls.
• Perform dFMEA analysis independently on design modules and systems.
