About The Position

The Mars team is responsible for bringing Meraki Dashboard features to the Cisco Catalyst family. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field and 12+ years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years of related experience
  • 3+ years of experience of professional coding web backend technologies, such as Ruby on Rails or similar as well as Go/Ruby/Python and rolling services out safely to customers using feature flags, A/B tests etc
  • Demonstrated experience making architectural and system design choices. Ability to communicate the trade offs and coach other team members
  • Practical experience with Emulation and Simulation of Networking devices
  • Project Leadership through defining stepping stones for a project(s) based on loosely defined business problems and can identify metrics to track project progress
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced agile engineering team and are excited to solve open-ended problems across the stack by rolling your sleeves up and working in all layers of the stack!

  • Experience with networking devices.
  • Experience with Cisco CML.
  • Experience systems software design, or large-scale distributed networking solutions.
  • Experience working across cross-functional or geographically distributed engineering teams. teams.

Responsibilities

  • Work across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable delightful user experiences and measurable business growth
  • Ensure reliability, performance and operational excellence of these systems by adding tests, telemetry and alerting systems
  • Take complete ownership from conception to production release by demonstrating your ability to influence, facilitate, and work across different teams.
  • Partner with EM/PM and other collaborators so define teams direction based on engineering and business priorities
  • Solve software defects, networking issues, and customer-reported problems while improving performance, scalability, and reliability.
