About The Position

Mujin is seeking a Software Team Lead for Warehouse Execution Systems (WES) to provide technical leadership and management support to an R&D team developing innovative software solutions. This role is crucial for the product development organization, leading software development for critical components of the Mujin system. The position involves collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders for successful product launches, as well as providing remote and onsite support. The team's mission is to advance the state-of-the-art in scheduling and controlling automation assets on an industrial floor, developing cutting-edge robotics technology including execution and scheduling algorithms for real-time, multi-robot operation and order fulfillment. Applications are performance-critical, involving autonomous interactions in uncontrolled environments. Work will be built, tested, and deployed in simulation and real-world scenarios. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects as part of a dedicated team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Robotics, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in software-driven product development for industrial automation, robotics, or similar industry.
  • 3+ years of team leadership and management experience, along with advanced programming skills in C++ and Python.
  • Expertise in distributed systems, orchestration logic, and real-time execution monitoring.
  • Experience integrating complex technology involving electromechanical devices and software ecosystems.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s or PhD in Robotics, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in software-driven product development for industrial automation, robotics, or similar industry.
  • 5+ years of team leadership and management experience.
  • Background in warehouse execution systems or solving large-scale scheduling problems.
  • Experience with real-time systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support 4-8 individual contributors from early career through senior level.
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable WES architectures for real-time decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Develop orchestration logic for inventory flow and order prioritization across automation layers.
  • Build APIs and integration layers for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and automation platforms.
  • Optimize algorithms for throughput and task scheduling in lifelong and online domains.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless system interoperability.
  • Review code and provide developers with constructive feedback to drive continuous improvements in quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in deployed systems.
  • Instill discipline and quality-first culture for timely delivery and exceptional user experience.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and team communications; and facilitate career path planning.
