About The Position

Works under minimal direction to provide technical skills required to generate, modify, and maintain computer operating system software of moderate complexity. We are seeking a self-reliant Software Systems Specialist to support our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) development team, a group of eight highly skilled analysts who provide expedient service support, impactful analysis, and quality project delivery. This role is central to advancing healthcare technology solutions that support more than 50 outpatient clinics and 10 inpatient units, spanning diverse and complex service lines such as Obstetrics, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecology, Neonatology, Pediatrics, Urogynecology, Fertility, Psychiatry, Psychology, Primary Care, General Internal Medicine. Experience in Epic Stork, EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient Clin-Doc or EpicCare Inpatient Orders is highly desirable. Certification or experience with any other Epic or other technology applications will also be considered. If not currently certified in a clinical application, the expectation is to obtain Epic proficiency with Honors in a clinical application within 30 days of hire. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years of computer operation, programming, or IT experience in a business setting or equivalent experience, including at least 1 year as Software Systems Specialist I or equivalent
  • An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be substituted in lieu of the stated requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Epic Stork, EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient Clin-Doc or EpicCare Inpatient Orders is highly desirable.
  • Certification or experience with any other Epic or other technology applications will also be considered.
  • Obtain Epic proficiency with Honors in a clinical application within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in analysis of software system problems of moderate complexity and formulates and implements solutions to such problems.
  • Performs programming, testing, and documentation.
  • Recommends development of system routines needed for efficient use of computer system resources; designs approved routines; oversees implementation.
  • May specialize in specific area of system software, such as telecommunications or information systems with responsibility for implementation and maintenance.
  • Participates in planning of enhancements and modifications to software; identifies impact of such changes.
  • Trains Software Systems Specialists I as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
