About The Position

As an Software Systems Engineer supporting Nosis Submarine and Surface Ship Systems Programs, you will be an integral member of an agile engineering team committed to delivering robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure solutions for the U.S. Navy. In this role, you will design, configure, and integrate software solutions to address complex integration challenges, conduct manual testing and debugging in production-like lab environments, and develop clear technical documentation in support of a rigorous systems engineering process. You will participate in daily team collaboration to ensure commitments to the U.S. Navy mission are met with consistency and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or Engineering, Science, or Math, plus 1 year of relevant experience; or Master's degree.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • js + PostgreSQL — frontend and relational database development
  • TypeScript — strongly-typed JavaScript development
  • Spring Boot — Java-based backend services
  • Go / Java — backend microservices development
  • RESTful API Design — interface design and implementation
  • Docker & Containerization — container-based deployment workflows
  • Agile Practices — Scrum / Kanban software development methodology

  • GitOps (e.g., FluxCD) — automated, declarative deployment pipelines
  • Message Queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka) — asynchronous service communication
  • Observability Stack — Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions supporting the Nosis program
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment
  • Contribute to full-stack development across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and continuous integration/delivery pipelines
  • Support system integration, RESTful API design, and containerized deployments
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation
