About The Position

Leidos is currently seeking a Software Specialist to join their team. The primary responsibilities include leading small groups of teammates to successfully deliver milestones on agreed requirements and schedule, and managing customer expectations to ensure alignment with agreed requirements. The role involves analyzing systems requirements, timelines, requirements allocation, defining interfaces, system testing and integration, and quality assurance. The specialist will also be responsible for technical planning, system design, development and integration, and system verification and validation. This position influences the development of innovative solutions that impact strategic customer goals and results, recommends new technical solutions in support of strategy and operations, and applies technical knowledge to resolve complex problems by developing innovative solutions through research and integration of best practices. The role requires the ability to communicate with leadership regarding matters of significant importance, including new concepts, practices, and approaches, and to influence others in weighing alternatives and determining the best value approach to phased solutioning. Requirements

  • Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences.
  • Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Able to effectively utilize core scripting languages
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Additional experience in lieu of degree.
  • Has in-depth understanding of Core programming tools (i.e. Python), ServiceNow principles, algorithmic theories, data analysis concepts and their application across range of deliverables.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an on-prem environment
  • Experience navigating proprietary customer developed systems and interfaces
  • Able to create and present power point presentations to demonstrate concepts and solution pathways.
  • Experience in the Service Now Modules of; Inventory, Procurement, Software Activation, Report Generation
  • Experience working with Data Analysis and presentation tools such as PowerBI and Tableau.

  • Includes work of other technical staff that impact on project results and outputs.
  • Applies technical knowledge to resolve highlight complex problems, develops innovative solutions through research and integration of best practices.
  • Ability to communicate with leadership regarding matters of significant importance, including new concepts, practices and approaches.
  • Proven ability to influence others with respect to weighing the pros and cons of alternatives and the best value approach to phased solutioning.
