Job Summary: The Commissioning Software Specialist supports the setup and configuration of commissioning software (CxAlloy) across multiple projects under the direction of the Commissioning Manager. This role contributes to accurate equipment data, properly structured checklists and tests, and clean project handoffs to field teams. The Specialist works cross-project, following established data quality and consistency standards that support successful commissioning outcomes.

Requirements

  • Must have a satisfactory background/MVR check.
  • Must pass a pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and/or random drug test.
  • High proficiency in Excel and structured data management, including large datasets, data validation, and import/export workflows.
  • Comfortable navigating and configuring web-based software applications and database-driven platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage setup work across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail for maintaining data quality and catching errors before they reach the field.
  • Ability to learn new software tools and technical workflows quickly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in administrative services, project management, information technology, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in software administration, data management, or a similar role.
  • Experience with structured datasets in Excel (pivot tables, data validation, large file management).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with commissioning software or commissioning processes is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Execute CxAlloy project setup following established procedures, from information gathering through field handoff, including equipment lists, checklists, tests, and user access.
  • Extract and format equipment data from construction drawings, submittals, and project proposals.
  • Configure CxAlloy project settings: issue types, checklist and test types, user roles, and permissions.
  • Populate users, checklists, and tests.
  • Upload equipment records and assign checklists and tests to equipment.
  • Coordinate with project managers and engineers, and assist the Commissioning Manager with client-facing alignment on CxAlloy configuration.
  • Upload, edit, and maintain equipment data within CxAlloy, ensuring accuracy against construction drawings and submittals.
  • Populate and verify equipment attributes (manufacturer, model, voltage, capacity, etc.) from project documentation.
  • Perform data reviews as part of established quality check procedures and implement corrections to resolve data entry errors.
  • Perform bulk data corrections and maintain consistency across projects.
  • Draft commissioning checklists and test templates using the standard template library and established standards, under review by the Commissioning Manager.
  • Customize templates following established guidelines for equipment type, commissioning stage, and client requirements.
  • Use AI-assisted tools to generate and review templates.
  • Suggest improvements to the standard template library based on project experience
  • Run internal quality checks on project setups for review by the Commissioning Manager.
  • Prepare equipment lists and templates for client review and assist the Commissioning Manager with submission and sign-off.
  • Follow established SOPs and flag areas for improvement.
  • Create new equipment records or checklists as needed during the project management phase.
  • Execute template modifications as directed, following change management procedures.
  • Assist CxAlloy users with common software questions and escalate complex issues.
  • Additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support the organization’s goals and adapt to evolving business needs.
