About The Position

The Software Product Assurance team in El Segundo, CA is seeking a highly motivated Software Security Engineer II to work onsite. Our mission is to provide world-class Security Software to be used in developing and supporting deployed sensor systems on various platforms. This role involves implementing Software Security principles for embedded software design, development, integration, and testing of real-time sensor software. The engineer will develop software applications using multiple programming languages on a variety of computing platforms, ensure SW Product Assurance processes are followed, and understand real-time software design and its performance implications with System Security implementations. Collaboration with cross-functional Engineering teams to define and implement Test Driven Multidisciplinary Capability (TDMC) based execution development and deployment requirements is also a key aspect, as is working in a common development environment to support program capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant software experience
  • Experience with C / C++
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python, Perl, or similar
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum/Kanban or similar development environment as part of a software team
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Nice To Haves

  • Education or on-the-job experience in: Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS); Kernel or Device Driver development; Software Integration; or similar.
  • Validation and verification of software applications
  • Full software development lifecycle for real-time embedded security-oriented products
  • Experience/Knowledge of several of the following: Linux/Unix environment
  • Interfacing with FPGAs and ASICs
  • Interfacing with low-level memory drivers
  • Inter-processor communication
  • Interface protocols, such as PCIe, GPIO, I2C, and SATA
  • ARM Architecture
  • Secure boot concepts
  • Cryptographic Algorithms
  • Containerization and software hardening techniques
  • Xilinx UltaScale+ MPSoC, Versal, or similar Embedded Processors
  • VxWorks, Embedded Linux, or similar embedded Operating System experience
  • Embedded Software Security
  • Use of software configuration management and bug tracking tools
  • DevSecOps tools, Model-based Engineering, and Test Driven Development

Responsibilities

  • Implement Software Security principles for embedded software design, development, integration, and testing of real-time sensor software.
  • Develop software applications using multiple programming languages on a variety of computing platforms.
  • Ensure the SW Product Assurance processes are followed on our programs.
  • Understand real-time software design and the performance implications associated with specific System Security implementations.
  • Work closely with cross functional Engineering teams to define and implement Test Driven Multidisciplinary Capability (TDMC) based execution development and deployment requirements.
  • Work in a common development environment to support and facilitate program ability to leverage specific capabilities.
