About The Position

We have an immediate need for a Software Quality Engineer for the Strategic Sensors & Precision Strike (SSPS) section within the Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) located in Woburn, MA. You will work with the different cross functional organizations as an individual contributor to ensure verification and validation of design, development, and integration of Raytheon’s digital products. Digital products include artifacts related to embedded code, simulations, firmware, and other artifacts as required by contract.

Requirements

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Applying technical principles in the software/firmware development process.
  • Conducting quality assessments of software products and artifacts.
  • Previous experience with Agile or DevOps software development, software testing, continuous integration and/or continuous monitoring.
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Practical experience of Guidance, Navigation, Signal Processing, Radar and Discrimination systems and associated algorithms is desired.
  • Advanced degree – M.S.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all phases of systems/digital products design and development.
  • Ensure that the digital products have are compliant to product/process requirements.
  • Review and approve inputs/outputs to Software, Systems, System Integration and Test and other work products.
  • Perform independent evaluations/risk assessments of activities across the digital products development lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvements by assessing process/product measures to instill a continuous improvement and a data driven culture throughout your assigned program effort.
  • Ensure integrity of the digital products & the Technical Data Package.
  • Monitor and participate in the test and release of the work products.
  • Measure and analyze key software attributes.
  • Provide guidance both to project staff and department senior staff.
  • Guide the successful completion of program quality assessments and may function in a software quality leadership role.
  • Interact with senior product development and test personnel through both written and verbal communication.
  • Improve and deploy Quality Engineering processes.
  • Lead project activities to improve key processes.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to improve product quality and process effectiveness.
