About The Position

The Village Companies is a family-owned organization comprised of multiple businesses in manufacturing services, amusement, and consumer products. Bay Tek Entertainment, founded in 1977, is a division that designs and manufactures arcade and virtual reality games. This internship role is part of the software quality control team, working to test and validate software for amusement machines. The intern will be a working team member, providing feedback to software developers on issues or anomalies found during testing.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Currently pursuing a degree in Software Development, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
• Attention to detail
• Willingness to do tedious tasks
• Excellent documentation skills
• Communicates information properly
• Flexibility to adapt to changing processes
• Desire to learn new technology
• A passion for improving the quality of R&D products
• Ability to lift 25lbs for short periods

Responsibilities

• Test the functionality of a product against a design document or flow chart
• Run through all menu options and evaluate the products functionality
• Work with developers to ensure quality software
• Experiment with a game’s behavior outside of normal operation
• Document failures as they occur and attempt to reproduce failures
• Investigate possibilities for product failure
• Assist mechanical and electrical team to validate hardware functionality
• Disconnect devices, test product functionality, and document the behavior
• Make suggestions for product improvements from a user’s perspective
• Work with service to replicate failures being reported from the field
