We offer a revolutionary approach to nighttime glucose control through a next-generation patch pump and closed-loop insulin dosing algorithm. The Role We are seeking a Software QA Engineer II to support software quality, validation activities, and release readiness across our platform. This role operates at the intersection of: mobile applications connected medical devices (Bluetooth) cloud APIs and backend systems You will play a key role in executing validation and regression testing activities for a regulated medical device product, helping ensure our releases are safe, reliable, and ready for real-world use. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys: structured problem solving system-level testing validation execution improving product quality in a fast-moving environment This is a hybrid role and you must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Luna Health office in San Diego, CA. Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in software quality assurance or software testing
  • Experience testing production software applications
  • Experience working in structured testing or validation environments
  • Experience testing: mobile applications APIs or backend services end-to-end workflows
  • Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools
  • Ability to investigate and clearly document software issues
  • Comfortable working with technical teams to reproduce and diagnose problems
  • Ability to understand workflows spanning multiple system components
  • Attention to detail when validating user-facing and safety-critical functionality
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Strong ownership mindset and accountability
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous problem spaces
  • Collaborative approach to working with engineering and cross-functional teams
  • Pragmatic approach to balancing speed, quality, and reliability

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with: Bluetooth / BLE or connected devices healthcare or regulated environments validation documentation or V&V processes API testing tools (Postman, Insomnia, etc.)
  • Familiarity with basic scripting or automation tools

Responsibilities

  • Execute verification and validation (V&V) activities across software releases
  • Develop and maintain validation artifacts, including: test plans test cases test execution records validation reports
  • Participate in release validation cycles across multiple product milestones
  • Support regression testing and release readiness activities
  • Document test results and assist with issue tracking and resolution
  • Execute end-to-end system testing across: mobile application Bluetooth-connected medical device backend services
  • Validate real-world workflows and edge cases
  • Test device connectivity, data synchronization, and system behavior
  • Reproduce, investigate, and document software defects
  • Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot system-level issues
  • Contribute to maintaining traceability between requirements and test coverage
  • Support audit-ready quality documentation and testing artifacts
  • Identify gaps in testing coverage and areas for process improvement
  • Help improve testing efficiency and repeatability over time
