About The Position

As a Software Project Manager, you will play a direct role in turning this purpose into real, meaningful software solutions. You will lead projects that power GN's hearing products worldwide, focusing on software that is clinically meaningful, rigorously developed, and built to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role is primarily remote, with a preference for candidates in the Glenview/Chicago area for occasional onsite collaboration and events. You will join our Portfolio & Delivery Management team in software solutions R&D, which is responsible for the development of all platforms connecting our hearing devices with users. This diverse and motivated group of project managers and design control specialists manages project delivery and redefines our way of working at GN. We continuously reinvent our processes, modernize our ways of working, and explore how AI can enable smarter delivery and better outcomes, ensuring compliance and quality are integral from the start.

Requirements

  • Experience delivering software in a regulated environment (medical devices, pharma, or similar) with knowledge of IEC 62304, ISO 13485, FDA, or EU MDR
  • Understanding of how design control, traceability, and verification/validation activities integrate into agile delivery
  • Experience delivering software solutions in an agile/SAFe environment
  • Ability to balance pace with compliance rigor
  • Clear communication and effective collaboration skills across technical, quality, and commercial stakeholders
  • Structured, curious, and solution-oriented mindset
  • Some experience with hardware or embedded systems
  • A relevant technical degree or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with project management methods (PMP, Prince2 beneficial)
  • Proficiency in English, both orally and in writing

Responsibilities

  • Lead software development projects as Epic Owner in a medical device context
  • Plan, coordinate, and guide project execution in alignment with regulatory requirements and design control processes
  • Own projects and collaborate closely with product owners, product managers, commercial teams, hardware/embedded software specialists, and regulatory affairs
  • Work in close collaboration with design control leads to ensure documentation, traceability, and regulatory compliance are built into delivery
  • Monitor essential KPIs and guide early risk-reduction measures, including risk management activities required under IEC 62304 and ISO 13485
  • Guide the GN product development lifecycle and continuously enhance processes within a regulated framework
  • Represent your project teams in governance and reporting, including milestone reviews with quality and regulatory stakeholders
