As a player/coach, you will leverage your extensive technical experience by supporting the full lifecycle of a development program while also managing a group of software engineers. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with leadership responsibilities in either a functional and/or technical role
  • Must be able to obtain an active Secret clearance
  • Ability to lead a medium to large groups
  • Demonstrated ability to guide individuals through complicated or difficult situations effectively and professionally
  • Experience with software and systems engineering processes, methodologies, and tools
  • Deep knowledge in C++ or another High Level Programming Language

Nice To Haves

  • Prior functional management experience (i.e. general supervision, performance management, staffing)
  • Embedded software design and implementation
  • Experience with electronic warfare
  • Working knowledge of Atlassian Suite
  • Experience with FACE or OMS Architectures
  • Experience with MBSE
  • Cost Account Management/Earned Value Management in a DoD environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision, mentoring, career development, and performance management for a team of 4-10 software engineers.
  • Conduct one-on-one and section level meetings.
  • Provide a safe, inclusive culture.
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new team members to meet business needs.
  • Use your technical skills and experience to ensure the design, implementation, and sustainment of our software solutions meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Support program execution through cost and schedule management, and metrics tracking.
  • Collaborate with other functional managers and discipline leads to ensure program success.
  • Be a major technical contributor to development programs
