About The Position

Nordson is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to support new product development, continuous improvement, database migration, and devops projects at the Golden Valley site. This position will work closely with the Software Engineering, Firmware, Electrical, and Operations teams to develop new products, calibrate / certify products, maintain existing product lines, and continuously improve relevant code bases. The intern will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced new product development and manufacturing environment and meaningfully contribute to projects that directly impact operational performance and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize and analyze data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with C#, c++/CLI, native c++, CUDA, Azure Devops, and / or Visual Studio is preferred.
  • Experience in Matlab or Python programming is preferred.
  • Experience with user interface design with Winforms and WPF is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the new product development process.
  • Work with firmware engineers to communicate with embedded devices.
  • Work with systems engineers to calibrate and certify new and existing products.
  • Work with internal customers to resolve bugs on new and existing products.
  • Write unit tests and stress tests for validation of software performance.
  • Assist in testing software releases for other members of the team.
  • Assists in collecting and processing data for our algorithm team.
  • Participate in software process improvement team.
  • Provides recommendations for user interface improvements.
  • Perform additional software and engineering support activities as assigned.
