About The Position

Our Sensing and Connectivity team is seeking a Software Integrity Engineer to validate and advance the next generation of location algorithms powering every Apple product. Our proprietary positioning stack fuses GNSS, Cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth signals to deliver the location experience behind Maps Navigation, Fitness applications, Emergency SOS via Satellite, and more. As a Software Integry engineer, you will directly measure, characterize, and improve the accuracy, reliability, and performance of these algorithms — ensuring hundreds of millions of users can trust the blue dot. The Software Location QE team operates at the intersection of algorithm development and quality engineering. We design experiments, build analysis pipelines, and run validation campaigns that prove (or disprove) that location algorithms meet Apple's rigorous standards across real-world and simulated environments. We're looking for an engineer with a deep understanding of what quality means for GNSS positioning. You will play a hands-on role in sustaining the operational foundation of our validation infrastructure, owning the health, configuration, and readiness of devices, test rigs, and receivers to ensure continuous, uninterrupted test execution. Envision and design new test benches to comprehensively validate cutting edge location features. Drive reliability, observability, and clean failure recovery to keep test execution predictable across the entire lab footprint. Design and execute validation campaigns for new location features, ensuring the experience of using these features meets or surpasses Apple’s quality standards. Build representative real-world and simulated test scenarios to characterize location behavior across the full range of environments our customers encounter. Define and track quality metrics to gate software changes through the SW release cycle. Develop techniques to isolate regressions in positioning; implement custom analysis scripts and statistical models to quantify impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in GNSS testing, positioning validation, or wireless system verification.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and agentic frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and scripting with prior experience in design and development of automated test harnesses & data analysis tooling.
• Experience with setting up and maintaining test benches for GNSS/A-GNSS simulation equipment and live signal roof top testing to run functional & performance validation.
• Familiarity with QA methodologies and test automation strategy.
• Experience in debugging logs to triage and root-cause issues.
• Ability to drive cross-functional communications and understanding dependencies while also ensuring a tight timeline can be maintained.
• Knowledge of the chipset validation lifecycle, from silicon bring-up through production-level algorithm tuning.
• Understanding of A-GNSS protocols, multi-constellation processing (GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BDS), and sensor-fusion architectures.
• Ability to read and interpret 3GPP location-service specifications (LPP, SUPL) and translate logs to verify misses against conformance requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting algorithm validation results to cross-functional audiences.
• Prior experience in fast-paced, agile environment with the flexibility to pivot quickly to support evolving product requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Experience building and shipping ML or AI systems, in production or through significant project work.
• Development of custom analysis scripts considered a plus.
