For more information, visit www.mda.space [http://www.mda.space/].   Role overview: MDA is seeking a Software Integration System Engineer that acts as the bridge between disparate technologies, designing and implementing solutions to merge software, hardware, databases and networks into a unified system. The incumbent will analyze, develop, test, and maintain these integrated systems to ensure interoperability, functionality, and performance. This role involves also managing the full project lifecycle, creating documentation, maintaining technical interfaces, APIs, and workflows to ensure seamless communication between software applications, on current and next‑generation remote sensing & communications satellite programs.

Requirements

  • Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience in software system integration.
  • Hands-on individual who can support systems integration processes and capability to test systems and resolve problems.
  • Experience with Confluence and JIRA.
  • Demonstrated capability to efficiently work with little supervision.
  • Ability to distill complex problems to fundamentals to solve with analysis, similarity, or creativity.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills in English; knowledge of French will be considered an asset (Contact with clients outside Quebec and work on deliverables in English).

Responsibilities

  • Author and maintain software Test & Validation Plans, system‑test requirements, verification & validation matrices, and detailed test procedures.
  • Produce Verification & Validation Matrices for payload and platform software features and FDIR requirements according to the program milestones.
  • Perform requirement management and maintain bidirectional traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Define integration and validation strategies for the DSS (SIL), payload software functions and FSW on FlatSat development platforms.
  • Lead or coordinate the DSS/FlatSat design team to build and integrate the software features according to specifications and incremental SW load/build specifics.
  • Support the definition of EGSE software functions, test scripts, and associated documentation.
  • Communicate technical status, risk assessments and trade‑study results to senior management and/or customers or partners.
  • Coordinate the integration work of subsystems on the development platforms.
  • Review Interface Documents (ICDs) and provide inputs to the Satellite Reference Database team for parameters and monitoring.
  • Support Satellite Reference Database development and validation
  • Support payload‑to‑platform FDIR definition and validation.
  • Perform satellite and payload troubleshooting, data analysis, trending, and test supervision.
  • Mentor, guide junior engineers and interns.
  • Act as technical liaison with customers, partners and external vendors
  • Act as Continuous Improvement stakeholder
  • Contribute to MDA’s knowledge‑base, process enhancements, and standards.
  • Ensure all artefacts, analysis, documentations and deliverables (source code, builds, test scripts, configuration files) are version controlled in PLM environment.
  • Support design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR/TRR…etc.).
  • Support Technology Road‑Mapping & Innovation
  • Support and analyse on‑orbit telemetry, update filter parameters as needed.
  • Assist the Operations team with flight test procedures strategy.
  • Support On‑Orbit Test activities, anomaly resolution, and operational hand‑over.
  • Support SOOH development and associated operator
