About The Position

Peraton is hiring a Software Integration Lab Engineer in Huntsville, AL. This role will be full time onsite. Peraton has a great opportunity to support the Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) program as a Software Integration Lab Engineer, working to help the military with missile detection and evade technology. This role works across several high visibility programs at ASE supporting the software team as a Software Integration Lab Engineer.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years with AS/AA; 5 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 3 years with MS/MA
  • Active Secret DoD Clearance
  • Comprehensive understanding of hardware schematics
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings
  • Strong capabilities in balancing multiple tasks and competing priorities
  • Understanding of system software interfaces, requirements, and interoperating with other systems
  • Direct experience performing integration and testing of aircraft electronics systems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a DoD acquisition project management office
  • Extensive experience testing aircraft electronics utilizing common laboratory precision measurement equipment integrated with hardware mock-ups and test stations
  • Background in Electronic Warfare (EW), Electronic Countermeasures (ECM), Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE), and/or general aircraft electronics
  • Proven track record of working closely alongside software engineering teams to execute testing and deliver precise, constructive feedback
  • Solid experience working with common aircraft communications interfaces, such as MIL-STD-1553 and RS-485
  • Practical experience fabricating, modifying, or altering electrical cables

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and support for all Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) products across their lifecycle, including requirements, interfaces, development, architecture, testing, and sustainment
  • Analyze and understand system interfaces and external systems interoperability
  • Review vendor software CDRLs and artifacts (e.g., Software Development Plan, requirements, design documents, and test plans)
  • Execute testing to verify interoperability between systems
  • Understand and analyze software requirements of the system
  • Collaborate with vendors to understand capabilities and performance requirements
  • Assess and understand software impacts to system use and installation
  • Provide overarching technical support for the software and product development teams
  • Conduct verification and validation (V&V) testing of software deliveries, as well as software installation on removable media
