About The Position

CACI is seeking an experienced Avionics and Flight Software Test Facility Software Integration Engineer to support the build-out, integration, and operation of NASA’s Moon Base Flight Software Integration Laboratory at the NASA Johnson Space Center. This role is crucial for developing humanity’s first outpost on the lunar surface. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated integration engineer with strong communication and customer relationship skills, a positive team-player attitude, flexibility, and the ability to articulate complex technical ideas. A passion for the Nation's Space Program and developing human-rated space vehicles is essential.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Software, Computer or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines required.
Three or more years of experience in software development for safety-critical software.
Must have strong C programming skills.
Experience in software and hardware integration for safety-critical software.
Must be flexible, open to new challenges in a dynamic environment, and possess strong technical expertise combined with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Requires the ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision.
Must be a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

M.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Software, Computer or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
Familiarity with integrating and troubleshooting avionics and related hardware.
Experience with NASA's Core Flight Software (cFS) framework.
Experience developing and troubleshooting embedded software for Real-time Operating Systems, preferably VxWorks.
Experience in human-rated space vehicles and specific vehicle software domains (e.g., C&T, C&DH, GN&C).
Experience in common spacecraft bus-communication protocols (e.g., 1553, RS-422, RS-232, USB, Ethernet).
Experience in automated testing.
Experience in verification testing.
Experience using GitLab and the Git version control system.
Experience using Jira.

Responsibilities

Develop software emulators for lunar assets.
Perform software integration, test, and verification.
Integrate hardware components, as needed.
Collaborate with engineering teams and contractors across multiple NASA programs and projects.
Ensure adherence to JSC standard software process practices.
