About The Position

The Associate Software Engineer will coordinate and develop project concepts, objectives, specifications, and resource needs. This role involves preparing development software, coding software (C++), and designing specific enhancements utilizing Socket API programming in Linux and Windows. The engineer will participate in the design, development, planning, modification, and testing of application software (C++) running on Windows 10 and embedded Linux. Responsibilities include recommending test control, strategies, apparatus, and equipment for solving applications running on multiple processors, testing and documenting results, and conceptualizing, developing, and analyzing engineering designs, specifications, and test plans for systems and equipment based on customer/contract requirements. The role also involves researching design concepts and feasibility utilizing advanced technical theory and knowledge to resolve software/hardware and target OS related issues, researching programming system failures and designing/programming solutions, and performing complex analysis of design programming. Additionally, the engineer will maintain liaison with customers, coordinators, subcontractors, and vendor representatives, monitor project status and progress, measure system performance, and stay updated on improvements in software engineering. This position also includes identifying software engineering process improvements and supporting their execution across the organization, providing mentorship to junior engineering staff, and assuming additional technical responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related technical disciplines.
  • Requires a minimum of 2-5 years work experience and Bachelor’s degree; or a Master’s degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience to include specification, design and development of embedded software systems.
  • Experience includes regression testing, requirements analysis, automation/scripting, User Application testing, Jira, writing test procedures, loading FW/SW, and defect isolation/debug/troubleshooting systems.
  • Requires proficiency using programming languages such as Java, C/C++/C#, Product Lifecycle Management, or other developmental software.
  • Must be eligible for DoD security clearance.
