This position is for a Software Engineering internship opportunity at Motorola Solutions in Plantation, Florida. We are looking for software engineers with a strong interest in embedded systems to help expand our team and deliver the next generation of communication devices to our customers. The ASTRO Devices Software team specializes in the development of world-class digital two-way radios for the mission critical market. Our APX family of radios are a lifeline to our public safety customers - firefighters, police officers, and other first responders.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Must be a US Citizen, permanent resident or be an MS student with work authorization (F1 Visa on CPT accepted only for masters-level students)

Nice To Haves

• Experience in C/C++ is a plus
• Experience in real-time embedded software is a plus
• Strong communication and problem solving skills is a plus
• Experience using version control; Git is a plus
• Experience with Linux is a plus
• Experience with embedded development/debug tools (such as emulators/JTAG, etc.) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Work in an Agile/Scrum team to analyze, design, implement, and test new two-way radio products and features
• Teamwork in a multi-site, world-wide development environment
• Finding, tracking, and repairing RTOS device software defects
• Create and execute unit, integration, system, load, and acceptance tests
