SalesforcePalo Alto, CA
$148,500 - $246,000

About The Position

Salesforce is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) to join the Experience Library team, which is part of the Digital Marketing Technology organization. This team builds and owns a content authoring and rendering platform that powers marketing pages across salesforce.com. The platform enables marketing teams to create high-quality, localized, and performant web experiences at scale. The team works across the full stack with a strong frontend focus, building modular blade component libraries, WordPress integrations, and a robust rendering layer. They embrace a "you build it, you own it" culture and are currently integrating AI into their engineering workflows, running accelerated initiatives, and expanding internationalization support. The SMTS role will be a senior frontend-focused full-stack engineer, a key technical contributor and domain expert on the Page Builder platform. Responsibilities include designing and building high-quality, scalable frontend components, collaborating with Product and UX, and mentoring junior engineers. The role will also involve shaping the integration of AI tools into daily development workflows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on frontend and full-stack web development.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript, with hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks (React preferred; Vue, Angular, or Ember also considered).
  • Solid experience with HTML5, CSS3, and CSS frameworks such as Sass or Tailwind.
  • Experience with Node.js and building backend services that support frontend experiences (BFF pattern a plus).
  • Experience working with Content Management Systems, particularly WordPress and/or Contentful, and understanding of how CMS-driven content flows into frontend rendering pipelines.
  • Proven experience building scalable, performant web applications on public cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred; GCP or Azure also considered).
  • Experience consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, with a solid understanding of API design and security best practices.
  • Strong understanding of web performance fundamentals such as Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, caching strategies, and CDN behavior.
  • Experience with frontend testing methodologies and frameworks (Jest, Cucumber, Selenium, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead and deliver features of medium-to-high complexity, from design through production.
  • Experience mentoring engineers, providing technical coaching and constructive code review feedback.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to document features and present designs to peers and stakeholders.
  • A related technical degree required.

Nice To Haves

  • A demonstrated, AI-first approach to engineering actively using AI tools (Claude, Cursor, Codex etc.) to move faster and help the team do the same.
  • Experience with internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n); building experiences that scale across multiple languages and regions.
  • Experience working within or contributing to a design system or component library.
  • Familiarity with WordPress as a CMS platform, including theme development or Page/REST API consumption.
  • Experience with build tools such as Webpack, Vite, npm, or Yarn.
  • Experience with CDN configuration (e.g., Akamai) and understanding of how CDNs impact web performance.
  • Experience with analytics instrumentation and tag management (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe, Tealium).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and experience as an active sprint contributor and planning partner.
  • Experience building with accessibility standards (WCAG) in mind.
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Technology, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain high-quality, production-grade frontend and full-stack features for the Page Builder platform, leveraging modern web technologies including JavaScript/TypeScript, React, HTML5, CSS3, and Node.js.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for one or more domains within the Page Builder platform; including the blade components library, CMS integration, or rendering pipelines.
  • Build and ship modular, reusable, and accessible UI components that power salesforce.com marketing pages at scale.
  • Take ownership of features from design through execution; writing design specs, defining test strategies, and delivering code that meets quality, performance, and observability standards.
  • Actively integrate AI tools (e.g., Agentforce, Slackbot, Cursor, Claude, Codex) into your engineering workflow to accelerate development and help up-level the team's use of AI.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, Principal Engineers, Architects and cross-functional engineering teams to define requirements and deliver exceptional digital experiences.
  • Mentor AMTS and MTS team members through pair programming, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing.
  • Contribute to code reviews, proactively monitor features in production, and champion engineering best practices and quality standards.
  • Help manage delivery complexity: slice stories and epics, define tasks, and expose dependencies and risks during sprint planning.
  • Present designs to internal groups and contribute to internal retrospectives, playbooks, and documentation.
