About The Position

The Software Engineering Senior Advisor is a senior-level role responsible for designing, building, and improving complex software and systems. This person leads teams, supports large projects, and helps make sure technology solutions are delivered on time and work correctly. In this role, you will write and review code, guide team members, and help improve systems over time. You will also work with vendors, architects, and other teams to solve problems and keep systems running smoothly. This role requires strong technical skills, leadership, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Requirements

  • Must be a current contractor with Cigna Healthcare, Evernorth Health Services, or a related company
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, or 3 years with a Master’s degree
  • Strong understanding of software development and technical concepts
  • Ability to solve complex problems with practical and effective solutions
  • Strong customer service mindset and communication skills
  • Ability to lead discussions with different levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills
  • Willingness to learn new tools and adapt to change
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Flexible schedule as needed to support business needs
  • If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or similar work experience
  • Experience in healthcare or PBM industry preferred
  • Experience working with vendors or external partners preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams that design, build, test, and support software applications
  • Write, review, and improve code to ensure high quality and performance
  • Partner with vendors to create project plans, timelines, and cost estimates
  • Ensure technology solutions meet quality standards across multiple projects
  • Provide technical leadership and support for large or complex programs
  • Guide team direction and help improve systems, including reducing technical debt
  • Identify ways to improve processes and make systems more efficient
  • Share knowledge and help train team members and vendor partners
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for key systems and tools
  • Work with architects to plan future technology changes or upgrades
  • Provide guidance on complex technical issues and solutions
  • Help create standards, best practices, and tools for the team
  • Lead efforts to resolve urgent production issues and outages
  • Identify root causes of problems and drive solutions
  • Support special projects as needed
