About The Position

Teradyne is seeking a Technical Software Engineering Manager I to lead a small team of software engineers within the Compute Software Solutions organization located in Agoura Hills, California. This leader will be responsible for managing approximately 4-5 engineers while remaining closely engaged in technical execution, software architecture discussions, project planning, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day leadership for software development activities supporting compute and automation solutions. This role requires balancing people leadership, technical guidance, and operational execution to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business objectives and customer needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 7+ years of software development experience.
  • Prior technical leadership experience leading projects or small engineering teams.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience delivering commercial or enterprise software products.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming and modern software development methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture, code quality practices, testing methodologies, and source control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and drive execution through others.

  • Previous people management or formal supervisory experience.
  • Experience in automation, test systems, compute solutions, or related engineering environments.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience leading cross-functional development initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4-5 software engineers.
