About The Position

At R2, the Software Engineering Manager is responsible for building and nurturing a high-performing engineering team. The role balances people leadership, execution management, and technical guidance to ensure the team delivers high-quality, scalable solutions aligned with product and business goals. It is suited to someone who thrives in dynamic environments, cares deeply about people, and has the technical depth to support sound decision-making without coding hands-on every day. The manager hires, develops, and supports engineers; oversees delivery and team processes; guides technical and architectural decisions; and connects leadership priorities with engineering execution. The role also involves understanding business and product goals, translating them into engineering strategy, balancing near-term delivery with long-term sustainability, participating in budgeting and headcount planning, and representing engineering in leadership and cross-functional discussions. R2 provides financial solutions to small and medium businesses in Latin America through platforms that embed financial services, starting with revenue-based financing. The company is growing its partner footprint, credit and underwriting capabilities, and operations across multiple markets. Eligible team members may participate in R2’s performance-based Phantom Share Program.
