About The Position

As a Manager, Software Engineering at NCR VOYIX, you will lead a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and delivering software solutions. You will foster a collaborative, high-performing environment, ensure technical excellence, and align the team's work with product and business objectives. The role oversees the software development lifecycle and drives the team's technical vision and strategy in alignment with the company's architectural principles and long-term goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of software development experience and a strong background in a relevant technology stack, such as Java, C#, Python, Go, or cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or management role overseeing software engineering teams.
• Proven track record of delivering complex software projects from conception to production.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, architectural principles, and scalable system design.
• Experience with agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Ability to balance technical expertise with effective people management and strategic thinking.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor software engineers, providing guidance, performance feedback, and opportunities for professional growth.
• Oversee the software development lifecycle from requirements gathering and design through implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Drive the team's technical vision and strategy in alignment with NCR VOYIX's architectural principles and long-term goals.
• Collaborate with product management, architects, and other stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and timelines.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions that meet business needs.
• Promote continuous improvement and best practices in software engineering, code quality, and agile methodologies.
• Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets, and communicate progress and risks to leadership.
• Participate in technical design and code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to standards.
• Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating and recommending adoption where appropriate.
