As a(n) Software Engineering Manager Senior - Data and Automation - Machine Learning Operations within PNC's organization, you will be based in [city/state location of position]. This role involves managing a group of software engineers/managers across multiple product lines, overseeing talent management including recruiting and mentoring, fostering technological innovation, encouraging sound technology choices, and driving continuous improvement. Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in MLOps systems
  • Expertise with core MLOps capabilities
  • Solid understanding of machine learning principles and the end-to-end ML lifecycle platforms (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, or cloud-specific services like AWS SageMaker)
  • Experience supporting development teams and collaborating with product vendors on issue resolution and security vulnerabilities
  • DevOps/DataOps fundamentals: CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Drive hybrid/on-prem deployments using OpenShift (OCP) and Kubernetes, ensuring cost efficiency and high availability
  • Customer Focused - Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  • Managing Risk - Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure they adhere to and support PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as Senior Software/Data Manager to drive ML Ops initiatives in the Bank.
  • Define and execute the enterprise MLOps roadmap, selecting and integrating cutting-edge tools for feature stores, model training, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Partner directly with data science and application development teams to understand their challenges and provide elegant, scalable MLOps solutions.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for model management, versioning, and security, ensuring our ML platform is both powerful and compliant.
  • Provide technical guidance to onshore and offshore development teams, fostering a culture of excellence in MLOps.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by evaluating new technologies (e.g., AWS SageMaker, MLflow, Kubernetes) and incorporating them into our tech stack to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Manage a group of software engineers/managers across multiple product lines.
  • Oversee the talent management of engineering talent, including recruiting, mentoring, and enabling a culture of learning with a focus on engineering craftsmanship.
  • Foster technological innovation, ensuring adoption of current trends, capabilities, and practices emerging in the market.
  • Encourage sound technology choices are made and drive innovative technology architecture and solution design.
  • Identify issues, share best practices, and drive continuous improvement.
