Software Engineering LMTS / PMTS - Software Factory (REMOTE)

Salesforce•Seattle, WA
•$172,500 - $344,700•Remote

About The Position

Salesforce’s Software Factory is a new team building a platform that enables coding agents to perform dependable work against the company’s codebase. The platform includes remote sandboxes for running builds safely, orchestration that launches work from tools and schedules, and observability to make agent output trustworthy at scale. The team integrates leading third-party coding agents rather than building its own, and develops the sandboxes, triggers, context, review surfaces, and audit trails around them. As one of the team’s first software engineering hires, you will shape the platform from the ground up and deliver it to internal engineering customers. You will partner closely with the CTO on architecture, build-versus-buy decisions, priorities, and the team’s roadmap. The position owns delivery from design through launch, monitoring, and iteration, and helps establish how the engineering organization uses agents in its daily work.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with coding agents and LLM tooling such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar, and informed views on their strengths and limitations.
  • Proven experience building developer tooling, CI/CD systems, or platform infrastructure used by other engineers daily.
  • A track record of delivering complex systems and leading engineers.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and helping establish a new team’s roadmap and conventions.
  • Pragmatic build-versus-buy judgment and willingness to integrate effective tools rather than rebuild them.

Responsibilities

  • Build triggers and orchestration that turn Slack messages, Linear tickets, GitHub events, and schedules into agent runs producing outcomes such as pull requests, preview environments, documents, and Slack replies.
  • Develop the context available to agents, including code and its history, Notion, Slack, Datadog, and integration twins for systems such as Salesforce.
  • Build human-in-the-loop surfaces for reviewing and steering agent plans, artifacts, and code.
  • Evaluate and integrate sandboxes, orchestrators, and coding agents, applying sound build-versus-buy judgment.
  • Partner directly with the CTO to shape priorities, architecture, and the factory’s roadmap.
  • Own delivery from design through launch, monitoring, and iteration.
  • Help establish patterns for how the engineering organization works with agents.
  • Build observability for agent work, including traces, tool audit trails, cost per execution, and sampling-based trace review.
