About The Position

Bracco Medical Technologies (BMT) is seeking three Software Engineering Interns to join our software development team. This internship offers the opportunity to build real software for actual products, contributing to software that supports medical technology used in the real world. Interns will be matched with a project based on their skills and interests, working in either the Injector (device) or Digital Health focus areas. The role involves experiencing the full software development lifecycle, from design and coding to testing, documentation, code reviews, and release preparation. The program aims to significantly improve the intern's software engineering skills through structured learning, hands-on projects, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field.
Experience with object-oriented programming using C#, Java, and/or C++.
Basic experience with Python.
Familiarity with source-control tools such as Git.
Basic debugging and troubleshooting skills.
Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to dig into problems.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to GUI or application development.
Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum.
Knowledge of Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools and concepts.
Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software testing concepts.
Experience with personal, class, hackathon, or open-source software projects.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Technical writing and presentation experience.

Responsibilities

Write production code, build features, solve bugs, debug systems, and create automated tests.
Improve user experiences and develop tools to enhance products.
Participate in the software development lifecycle, including designing, coding, testing, documentation, code reviews, and release preparation.
Work with engineers and other teams to understand the process of developing software from idea to product in a regulated industry.
Contribute to software for medical devices and their supporting infrastructure (Injector team) or server-based solutions for connected products (Digital Health team).
