About The Position

We are seeking a Software Engineering Intern in our Broomfield, CO Location. This internship role will be with the team that’s focusing on lab control software and/or real-time embedded software. The intern will be involved in software design and coding, unit testing and integration with CI/CD toolchains, and will work with software leads to define and execute core projects. There will also be opportunities to help with other development tasks as interested.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD
  • Graduating after December 2027
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status)
  • Must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless also a U.S. citizen, due to national security requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience integrating a diverse set of components, including hardware and software, particularly in engineering laboratory environments.
  • Experience developing software interfacing with engineering laboratory equipment, including sensors and controllers.
  • Interest in working on compilers and associated technologies such as LLVM
  • Experience with Docker or similar tooling
  • Fluency in Python, C/C++
  • Software development skills in Linux development environments
  • Familiarity with software configuration, delivery, and deployment tools like Git, Jenkins, and Docker
  • Enthusiastic support of deployed software: debugging, profiling, responding to user feedback, etc.
  • Experience with relational or key/value database systems
  • Interest in compiler tools, quantum circuits, circuit optimization, and quantum algorithms
  • Enthusiasm for problem solving in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Quantum Information Science, or a related technical field, and a strong record of academic achievement
