About The Position

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company focused on building the Waymo Driver to improve mobility and safety. The Software Engineering team develops the core autonomous driving technology, enabling the Waymo Driver to perceive its environment, make decisions, and transport passengers safely. This role is within the Labeling team, which builds and maintains the infrastructure for data curation to enhance ML models. The team collaborates with modeling teams to create and synthesize necessary data, acting as owners of existing infrastructure while innovating new platforms to improve user experience and downstream models.

Waymo interns collaborate with industry leaders on impactful projects, experiencing a two-way learning street where they apply their knowledge and expand their skill sets. Interns are integral to Waymo's culture and future recruitment pipeline, offering a fun and rewarding internship experience.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience working with large data infrastructure
• Knowledge of CS graph fundamentals, inc. topographic sort
• Coding experience – TS / C++ preferred, but those specific languages are not mandatory

Responsibilities

• Work with labeling engineers on iterating on compiler design and addressing user needs
• Experiment with different engineering approaches to determine best output for extensible future design
• Code in c++ and typescript to implement the compiler
