About The Position

Vroom Power is developing software, firmware, and hardware to support smarter solar power and microgrid systems through its Solar-Direct technology. This internship offers opportunities to contribute to software projects connected to the company’s technology. Projects may vary based on company priorities and the intern’s skills and interests, with potential areas including application development, data analysis, and embedded systems. Any activities involving live power systems may depend on appropriate access and supervision. The internship is offered through the Students + Startups internship program and runs for 10 weeks, from May 31 to August 6, 2027. It is full-time at 40 hours per week, with mandatory orientation on May 26–28, 2027. Students receive a $6,000 summer stipend, disbursed in three installments. The position is remote, with minimal local supervision in San Antonio. Housing applications will be accepted after an internship has been secured. Students with San Antonio roots or ties to the surrounding area receive priority admission under program guidelines.

Requirements

Students studying computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
Foundational programming skills are helpful.
Curiosity and an interest in clean technology are helpful.
Relevant experience gained through coursework, personal projects, or previous work is welcome.

Responsibilities
