About The Position

Equinix builds and operates the world’s digital infrastructure platform, enabling companies to connect, scale, and innovate. Our Software Engineering teams design and build modern, scalable applications that support internal platforms and customer‑facing products used across the globe. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will support the development of modern software solutions while learning industry best practices. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and gain hands‑on exposure to the full software development lifecycle in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university or college, in your penultimate year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Majors in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields
  • Expected graduation between December 2026 – September 2027
  • Available to work full‑time for the entire duration of the Summer Internship Program (June–August, depending on school schedule)
  • Foundational understanding of software development and object‑oriented programming concepts
  • Familiarity with Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar programming languages
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; business proficiency in English
  • Strong curiosity, positive attitude, and willingness to learn

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building applications through coursework, projects, or hackathons
  • Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) or modern frameworks
  • Basic understanding of APIs, databases, and data structures
  • Exposure to Git, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud platforms
  • Coursework or experience with Agile or iterative development methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Support the analysis of product requirements and technical designs with guidance from senior engineers
  • Assist with software development tasks, including feature enhancements and bug fixes
  • Contribute to coding, unit testing, and debugging in a supervised environment
  • Participate in code reviews to learn coding standards, best practices, and quality expectations
  • Help execute basic testing and defect tracking, ensuring fixes are validated
  • Support release preparation and documentation activities
  • Collaborate with engineers, QA, and product partners within an Agile team setting
