As an intern on this team, you will contribute to the customer facing software running inside software-defined vehicles, spanning Android platform work, in vehicle applications, wireless and telematics integration, visual and graphics features, or the automation and integration testing that supports these systems. Specific project areas vary by team and may include: Developing Android Automotive applications such as navigation, media, or vehicle settings Contributing to Android platform or system level software, including HAL development or system stability work Building wireless or telematics software connecting the vehicle to mobile apps and cloud services Supporting 3D graphics or visual experience features using tools such as Unreal Engine or OpenGL Writing automated test suites and integration tests for infotainment features

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program at an accredited US university
  • Proficiency in Kotlin, Java, C++, or Python

Nice To Haves

  • Actively pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field, with intent to return to school after the internship
  • Experience developing Android applications or familiarity with the Android Automotive OS framework
  • Coursework or project experience with wireless protocols such as LTE, Wi-Fi, or BLE
  • Exposure to 3D graphics engines such as Unreal Engine, OpenGL, or Vulkan
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test software features within an existing infotainment, mobile, or connectivity application
  • Write code in Kotlin, Java, C++, or Python depending on the team
  • Collaborate with product and design partners to understand feature requirements
  • Debug and resolve issues found during development or testing
  • Present your work and progress to your team throughout the internship
