About The Position

Software Engineering Director exhibits a mix of technical acumen, strategy and vision, along with the ability to cultivate and grow technical talent. Responsible for designing, developing, implementing and testing a set of technical products in response to an external or internal need. Manager is an advanced technologist enabling strong coding practices and solid design decisions. Builds meaningful relationships with relevant stakeholders and effectively partners to remove organizational obstacles and guide cross-team strategic efforts. Acts as agile/product champion by enabling product teams and partnering with other leaders to drive empowerment, autonomy, engineering momentum, and business value. Fosters a culture of empowerment, engineering excellence, and growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 10 or more years of relevant software engineering experience
  • Six or more years of experience leading multiple software engineering teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building and leading large, geographically distributed, high‑performing platform engineering teams.
  • Strong background in healthcare technology, payments, fintech, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Experience managing web/mobile applications, APIs & leveraging AI tools for developer productivity.
  • Proven experience building and scaling secure, highly available SaaS platforms in AWS‑based cloud environments.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and containerized platforms (ECS/Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Strong working knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, and PCI DSS, with demonstrated success embedding compliance into engineering workflows.
  • Security‑first mindset with experience embedding monitoring, logging, and reliability standards into engineering operations.
  • Strong collaboration with Product, Design, and Customer teams to deliver payment solutions that improve patient financial experiences.
  • Experience aligning engineering execution with product roadmaps, customer needs, and market opportunities.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders at the executive level.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, patient‑first environment with high expectations for documentation, stability, and operational rigor.
