About The Position

This is a hands-on software development position with the Electronic Foreign Exchange development team in State Street Global Markets. The candidate will provide technical leadership and coordinate work effort with other teams. The scope of work involves developing high volume transactional systems and building integration solutions across heterogeneous platforms. The candidate will work closely with business users, Development, QA, and Infrastructure teams.

Requirements

• Master's degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field; plus 3 years of experience developing software applications in a large enterprise environment. OR Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field; plus 5 years of experience developing software applications in a large enterprise environment.
• 3 years of experience and demonstrated ability with Core Java / J2EE and with Linux/bash scripting
• 3 years of experience and demonstrated ability with CICD (git, github, Jenkins, Maven, or similar)
• 3 years of experience and demonstrated ability with release management
• 2 years of experience and demonstrated ability working with infrastructure teams to provision computing capacity
• 2 years of experience and demonstrated ability with enterprise messaging platforms including Apache Kafka, AWS SNS and/or IBM MQ in high volume environments
• 2 years of experience and demonstrated ability with scalable cross-platform integrations
• 2 years of experience developing applications utilizing TCP/IP and developing load-balanced applications utilizing HTTP
• 2 years of experience and demonstrated ability managing data with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, or similar)
• 1 year of experience and demonstrated ability providing technical leadership to a software development team
• 1 year of experience and demonstrated ability with architecting and managing enterprise-grade AWS cloud infrastructure encompassing IaaS and SaaS delivery models
• Proven experience with and demonstrated knowledge of Financial Services and/or Order Management
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills and the ability to receive and analyze requirements
• Demonstrated excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal planning skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle for Iterative, Agile, and traditional approaches
• Demonstrated understanding of architectural schematics

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and coordinate work effort with other teams
• Develop high volume transactional systems
• Build integration solutions across heterogeneous platforms utilizing both private and public cloud infrastructure
• Work closely with business users and Development, Quality Assurance, and Infrastructure teams
• Design highly available distributed systems by leveraging your experience in Java programming and design
• Receive and analyze requirements and propose suitable solutions that adhere to the team's methodology
• Deliver successfully within an Agile environment as well as demonstrate the flexibility and adaptability to operate successfully in such an environment
• Communicate with all parties involved including senior management, developers, architects, and end users, who may be based in different locations and time zones
• Coordinate the work of a small team of developers, potentially in different locations and time zones
• Take ownership of small to medium projects and run them from inception to completion
