About The Position

Moment Energy is seeking a Software Engineering Co-op to join their Engineering team. This role will support the development of the cloud platform that powers their battery management systems and energy storage products. The co-op will work on both front-end and back-end development, collaborating with engineers across hardware and software teams. This is an opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience building scalable software systems for real-world energy infrastructure.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• Experience with modern web development frameworks and tools
• Familiarity with backend development and API design
• Basic understanding of databases and data modeling
• Interest in cloud platforms, IoT systems, and connected hardware
• Experience with version control systems such as Git
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment

Nice To Haves

• Strong preference for students with Design Team or previous co-op experience

Responsibilities

• Develop front-end web interfaces for the battery management system (BMS) cloud portal
• Contribute to backend API development and system architecture
• Design and implement database schemas to support platform functionality
• Help integrate energy storage hardware with cloud services and IoT infrastructure
• Develop unit tests and integration tests to ensure system reliability and stability
• Maintain high standards of code quality, documentation, and reusability
• Support development of the IoT platform for remote battery monitoring and control
• Assist with software testing, debugging, and performance improvements
• Collaborate with engineers across hardware and software teams to support product development
