Software Engineering Co-op (Summer/Fall 2027)

About The Position

This is a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session that will run May/June- December (including the Fall semester). Students are expected to take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity. The role involves working within a team of Software and Systems engineers to design, develop, and test software features for flight management systems integrated into military helicopters and planes. The position also requires integrating soft skills such as leadership, communication, coordination, and proactiveness into a dynamic environment to deliver quality and timely products to internal and external customers.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
Experience with C, C++, ADA, and/or Python (experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects).
Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
Must be a U.S. Person (lawful permanent resident, U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or individual granted refugee or asylee status in the U.S.).

Nice To Haves

Ability to draft System and/or Software Requirements
Pilot/Avionics Experience (i.e. Private Pilot, Aircraft Maintenance, DO-178 Certification)
Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
