The Role As a Software Engineering Co-op you will contribute to building and maintaining reliable, scalable software systems that support warehouse automation and customer operations. During this 4 to 6-month co-op experience, you will work alongside experienced software engineers to develop production-quality software, enhance platform capabilities, and gain hands-on experience with APIs, telemetry, analytics, and modern cloud technologies. This role provides an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering challenges while developing technical skills in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Eligible to participate in a 4 to 6-month full-time co-op program.
  • Completed coursework in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, or related software engineering topics.
  • Experience with at least one programming language such as TypeScript, C#, Java, Python, C++, or a similar language through coursework, personal projects, or internships.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
  • Basic understanding of software development fundamentals and debugging techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must not require visa support to work in the USA

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of software applications and services.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve software quality.
  • Support the development and enhancement of APIs and system integrations.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving software issues.
  • Contribute to telemetry, monitoring, and observability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, product, and operations teams.
  • Participate in Agile development activities such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Document technical designs, implementation details, and testing results.
  • Learn and apply software engineering best practices, tools, and development methodologies.
