About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to enhance our team capabilities on delivering key experiences for our Finance Tech team. An ideal candidate is well versed in Data Engineering technology, collaborating closely with product managers and technical architects supporting our business on providing the latest technologies and automations. Additionally, you will be responsible to lead and mentor the tech team through the requirements gathering, design, development, and deployment. In Walmart Global Tech, our Enterprise Business Services (EBS) organization is invested in building a compact, robust organization that includes service operations and technology solutions for Finance, People, and Associate Digital Experience. Our mission within EBS is to enable Walmart's Global Enterprise to spend smartly, act digitally and build trust with associates and shareholders. Modernize and support the Finance Data Factory, transforming disparate applications with disjointed designs and architectures into a cohesive, modern Platform. Utilizing both Data Engineering and Software Engineering tech stacks to move from point solutions to scalable, comprehensive platforms. Work with key engineering teams to define our architectural patterns, set data quality standards, drives automation, with a focus on customer delivery. Designing, building,testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving large-scale software solution following agile development process. Interact closely for requirements with product owners, business and technical teams. Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines. Learn new and changing technologies and adapt to ensure best software practices and standards.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in Java, Python, ML, microservices and Application Architecture
  • SQL and no-SQL Databases such as Big Query, Cosmos, Cassandra, and Postgres
  • Experience with DevOps practices, particularly CI/CD, to support effective development and deployment processes.
  • Experience with Kafka or other high volume, low latency messaging infrastructure
  • Deep experience with public cloud platforms and cloud native services
  • Experience with big data technologies, such as, Hadoop, Hive or Spark.
  • Ability to perform in a team environment and ready to take ownership.
  • True passion for technology, love to continuously learn and strive for excellence.
  • Great analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude with strong technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
